Dr. Meeks was born and raised in Paducah, KY and graduated as Salutatorian from Paducah Tilghman High School in 2001. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then went on to medical school at the University of Louisville where he graduated magna cum laude with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2009. In medical school, Dr. Meeks was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, reserved for those graduating in the top of the class.

Following medical school, Dr. Meeks completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Louisville. He then completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas-Southwestern from 2010-2013. Dr. Meeks has always aspired to return back to Paducah to give back to this great community. He joined The Ophthalmology Group in August 2013 practicing comprehensive general ophthalmology. He is providing complete medical and surgical care, including glaucoma management, screening and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, eyelid procedures (i.e. blepharoplasty, ptosis repair, entropion/ectropion repair), strabismus surgery, and laser-assisted cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses.

Dr. Meeks is happily married to his wife, Van. They have a 1-year-old son named Paul who may be the cutest baby boy in the universe. The Meeks family enjoys cooking together, going to Broadway shows at The Carson Center, and traveling all around the world. They enjoy listening to The Beatles, The Avett Brothers, and Bawn in the Mash. Additionally, Dr. Meeks enjoys playing golf, table tennis, and basketball.
